On July 1st Beijing time, the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies and star big man Jaren Jackson Jr.have reached a 5-year, $240 million supermax contract extension, which includes a player option in the last year (2029-30 season). He will continue to play alongside the team's leading star Morant for another four years. Besides Jaren Jackson Jr.,the Grizzlies also signed Santi Aldamato a 3-year, $52.5 million deal today, and additionally inked a 2-year, $4.5 million contract with Cam Spencer.

The 25-year-old Jaren Jackson Jr.is currently one of the NBA’s elite power forwards. He won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2023, has been selected twice to the All-Defensive First Team, and this season played 74 games averaging 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game, with a shooting percentage of 48.8%.
Jaren Jackson Jr.was the only player in the league last season to score over 1,500 points and record 100 blocks in a single campaign. Furthermore, he has achieved the feat of at least 100 three-pointers and 100 blocks in each of the past four seasons, setting the longest such streak in NBA history.
