Signed, sealed, done! Farewell to the 3-time champion center! The first Warrior to leave this summer.

Durant & Adams come together in Houston; Looney & Poole unite in New Orleans; Russell & Davis link up in Dallas.

This year’s NBA free agency is truly a gathering of familiar faces.

Indeed,Looney has departed from the Warriors, signing a two-year, $16 million contract with the Pelicans, and not long ago, Poole was traded by the Wizards to the Pelicans.

With this, two vital contributors from the Warriors’ 2022 championship team are now reunited on the court in New Orleans.

Poole enthusiastically welcomed Looney on his personal social media, excited to have his talent join the Pelicans.

From 2015 to 2025, Looney spent a full decade with the Warriors, playing a major role in securing three championships. He averaged 5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game in the regular season, and 5.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in the playoffs.

With Looney’s departure, according to reporter Siegel, the Warriors are actively pursuing a deal with Horford.

Horford, now 39 years old, won his first career championship last year with the Celtics. Last season, he averaged 9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists in the regular season, and 8 points, 6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks in the playoffs.

Not only the Warriors, but also competitive teams like the Knicks, Nuggets, Cavaliers, and Lakers are interested in signing Horford, so he is still considering where to continue his career.

It’s worth noting that the Warriors are currently the top favorite to sign the biggest name on today’s buyout market, Ayton. However, all signs point to the Lakers being the most likely destination, with both sides reportedly close to an agreement.

Recently, Ayton posted a photo on his social media wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball cap. At this sensitive and crucial time, every move he makes carries significant meaning.

Ayton has officially reached a buyout agreement with the Trail Blazers, forfeiting $10 million in the process. So, the answer will become clear in the next few days, with many Lakers fans reportedly ready to pop the champagne.
